Making money online can be quite difficult, especially if you want to earn your blog only through advertisements.
To be a successful Adsense publisher you need a lot of traffic, but you also need traffic to connect with the ads that appear on your site.
The Adsense CPC you pay will depend on the topics you write.
In the blogging world, you can either write articles that will compete for those clicks that will pay a few cents or be strategic and write content that will pay large sums of money.

Why do these Adsense keywords pay so much?
Because the companies behind the advertisements have a high customer value and can spend a few hundred rupees to acquire a customer. It all boils down to his business economics.
So, how can you profit from this data and ranke in thousands of dollars search month?
Let’s go through a hypothetical example.
You will note that a blog related to insurance will carry a higher CPC.
You then research some keywords and find that “car insurance companies” pay well.

- With an amazing on-page SEO, you are able to rank your blog posts high in the Google rankings,
- You get a good amount of high quality organic traffic to your site, and then
- monetize in more AdSense revenue.

In addition to choosing the best niche for Adsense, you also have options as to which ad to show.
The options are:
1) text and display
2) matching content
3) in-feed and
4) in the article.
In my own experiments, I got high clicks on rates with original in-article ads. Those ads perform best on any of my sites.
In-article advertisements will naturally blend in with your content and display mid-way through your blog posts. I like these types of ads because they are relevant and usually get a good amount of clicks.
Sidebar ads are not as good because we are already trained to tune them.
If you want any other content, you can also try the matched content.
Pro tip: use auto ads by Google
Adsense Auto Ads take advantage of machine learning and automatically come to your site where Google thinks they will perform well.
Google has been testing the auto advertising feature as a beta since September of 2017 and recently (in early March) released the feature to everyone.
Since Google has millions (if not billions) to test, they will be better than you or me when figuring out the right type and placement of ads.
The only downside to this is that you do not have much control over how many ads are shown or where they are placed, which if you are eligible, can make you nervous.
To set up auto ads on your site, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- In the left navigation panel, click on my ad.
- Click on Auto Advertisement.
- On the “Choose your global setting” page, use the controls to select the ad formats you want to show.
- If you want AdSense to add new ad formats to your available global settings,
- leave the new formats automatically selected.
- Click on save.
- On the “Location Code on your page” page, click Copy Code.
- Paste the ad code between the <head> and </head> tags of each page where

Which exact keywords pay the most CPC on Adsense?
SEMrush did a nice study on some of the best keywords by country here.
If you are looking for exact top paying keywords such as mesothelioma which pays $1000+ per click, you can check out the list compiled of 2M+ adsense keywords by GrepWords. For instance, they reported the ultimate top paying keyword “mesothelioma survival rates” at $1008.76 per click.
Here are a few of my favorite top paid keywords per industry found through SEMRush (data for 2017, 2018 and 2019, 2020,2021):
Mesothelioma Keywords sorted by CPC
Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that lines the lungs, stomach, heart, and other organs, and unfortunately can’t be cured. Nevertheless, treatment can help reduce the pain. People that contracted mesothelioma did so at their jobs so that is why you see searches like “mesothelioma attorneys”, “mesothelioma law firms” and “mesothelioma compensation”.
This is a very competitive keyword set so unless you can outrank WebMD and MayoClinic, I suggest you look for other industries.

Bonus # 1: Target these countries if you want to earn 10 times more
Targeting for the right countries can actually increase your AdSense earnings.

If you take a look at this chart, you will see that most of the countries on this list are first-world countries.
How do you target a particular country in your blog?
The easiest way is to blog in their native language. To get visitors from Canada, US, UK or Australia, your blog must be in English. Similarly, write in German if you are looking for people from Deutschland.
You can also change your targeting settings under Search Console.
Bonus # 2: Unlock even more revenue by blocking low CPC ads
As a publisher, you have a good amount of control over which ad categories you want to show on your site.
If you are trying to increase the CPC, RPM or CPM of your Adsense ads, I suggest you take a look at your ad performance and start blocking categories that are not paying well.
Here’s how you can do this.
- Go to Adsense and click on “Blocking Controls> Content> All Sites” on the left hand column.
Click on “General Categories”
Sort by% Income (Ascending).
There you can take a look at which advertisements are taking a good amount of impressions, but are generating relatively little earnings.
For example, let’s say the “hobby games and rest” category is only making 0.7% of your revenue so far, you’re taking 4% of impressions, you can try and block it, and see that Whether your performance is improving or not.You can also experiment by blocking some ad networks. I have not tried it personally, but some people claim that it works.A word of caution: Do not block too many categories (or ad networks) otherwise you will significantly reduce bid competition and start reducing your revenue.
Pro Tip: Run an optimization experiment
You can always run an experiment (found under Optimization> Experiments) and see if blocking your ads generates more revenue.
You can also check if 50% of your total ads vs. 100% of advertising gives more revenue.
Google Adsense usage typically lasts 10–30 days, up to 100 days (depending on your usage and traffic).
For example, I am running an experiment to block certain categories, and as you can see below I had already started seeing some good results (unfortunately Adsense policies prevent me from sharing exact numbers Huh).
Bonus # 3: Steal your opponent’s lunch (aka. Find out which keywords are giving them the most revenue)
What if you could see which keywords gave your competition the most clicks and revenue?
Let me show you how I do it.
The process is very simple and uses SEMRush. (Free trial use me)
All you have to do is:
- Find any authority site in your niche. (For example in online marketing, I would use my site)
- In SEM Rush, type the site on the search bar.
- Scroll to “Top Organic Keywords” and click “View Full Report”
- On that report, sort by CPC.
- Voilá, you have a list of possible keywords that you can use now.
- Rinse and repeat with other sites that you admire.
Once you do this process with 3-5 sites, you will have a good set of keywords that you can target. (By the way, you can hire someone on Fiverr or Freeeup [my favorite] to write a quality article for you so that you don’t really have to take the time to do it.)
Bonus # 4: Find High-paying Keywords Using Search Console
Do you know that Google already provides you with the keywords you provide?
What if you could optimize your existing blog posts to target better keywords?
Instead of spending many hours writing an entire post, you can update an old update and choose the juicer keyword.
Like this.
- Install Keywords Everywhere Chrome Extension
- Head of Search Analytics under Google Webmaster Tools
- Choose your website
- Be sure to check the Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Status boxes at the top
- Filter by any specific page that you want keywords to show for:
- i.e. https://paperads.org/high-cpc-adsense-keywords/
- Since you installed the Keywords Everywhere tool you will see an additional 3 columns on your list, namely: Monthly Volume, CPC and Competition
- Unfortunately you can’t short by CPC so you will have to copy all the data into a Spreadsheet and sort it there. I suggest you hit the Show 1000 rows at the of Webmaster tools.
- I made a Google sheet for you that you can copy (File > Make a Copy..) to sort all your keywords.
- Copy and paste all your keywords, and then hit the arrow on the column of CPC and sort from Z->A
- Voila, you will see all the keywords that your blog post ranks for, all ranked from highest CPC to lowest CPC.
As you can see these will be the last trick keywords that may not apply to your blog post. In my cases, the “Mesothelioma Lawyer Directory” does not apply to this specific term posts which I will just ignore.
However, it will also search for keywords that I am already getting impressions on, such as “top paying keywords”, but for which I am still ranking on page # 2. The secrets here now extend my existing blog posts to include that new keyword so that my page # 1 collides with the page.
Pro tip: You can also sort by competition to find other hidden gems.
(Remember that now with the new RankBrain algorithm you should not target every specific long-tail keyword, but rather the medium-tail keyword covering a broader topic.)

So, how can you make $ 100 a day with Adsense?
I don’t know about you, but 100 bucks a day on ads seems like a nice passive income ($ 3k / mo) to me.
Let’s look at some calculations on what it would take to make $ 100 / day on Adsense.
First, some assumptions.
You’re targeting American readers (as we saw earlier, American ads pay the most on average).
Your CTR (click-through rate) is 1% (that is, 1% of visitors click on ads)
Your CPC is $ 0.50 (your niche is strong but your site is just starting)
Your RPM (revenue per 1000 impressions) is $ 2
The Btw, you can increase your earnings using Ezoic. (An ad tester forum)
With these numbers we can now calculate how many visitors we need to earn our target amount.
The formula is = visitor * CTR * CPC + visitor / 1000 * RPM
So with 15,000 visitors per day we get around $ 100 / day Adsense.
(15,000 * 1% * $ 0.5 + 15,000 / 1000 * $ 2 = $ 105 / day)
But how do you get 15,000 page views per day? is it fair?
Yes, it is appropriate. To do this, you can either
See 15 articles that get 1000 page views (hard)
Produce 150 articles that get 100 page views (very easy)
Learn to write articles that will attract a lot of visitors.
